FAQ - Commercial Cleaning

Are you insured/do you have a certificate of liability insurance?

Yes!

What types of businesses do you clean?

We are able to clean any type of business, from small office suites to larger buildings with multiple floors, bathrooms, kitchens, and/or shop floors. We also clean salons, restaurants/bars, retail establishments, dental offices, and more!We are equipped to provide you with an efficient, thorough service to keep your workplace clean, orderly, and attractive to customers and employees alike.

Is a contract required for commercial cleaning?

Not necessarily, but if you have a larger business, contracting with Simple Sage Cleaning for a specified term sets the foundation for a smooth partnership.

What kind of frequency do you recommend for commercial cleaning?

This will depend on your company's needs. Smaller businesses may only need cleaning services once a week. Larger businesses or work spaces will be better served by at least two cleanings per week.

What would be considered a standard cleaning for a business?

A standard cleaning for a business involves wiping and disinfecting accessible surfaces, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom cleaning (toilets, sinks, mirrors, contact surfaces, floors), trash removal, and kitchen cleaning (sink, microwave, surfaces, floors), and maintaining a clean and orderly supply closet (if applicable). Additional services required by your business will be discussed at our initial consultation.

FAQ - Residential Cleaning

I want to get started with having a cleaner come to my home. How does this work?

Contact us by email, phone call, or text. We will set up a time to meet and walk through the space to be cleaned (walk throughs via Zoom are an option as well!). We will discuss your cleaning needs, preferences, the best frequency for your household, and cost. Then, we'll set up your first cleaning!

I have pets and/or kids. Can you help me clean up after them?

Absolutely! We love helping busy families keep things tidied up. We are happy to clean up after pets and kids, or work around them, depending on your preferences!

Can you clean carpets and upholstery?

Yes! We can clean carpets and upholstery as part of an overall clean. We do not specialize in carpets however, so if you specifically need your carpets cleaned or have heavy duty carpet cleaning needs, please reach out to a carpet cleaning specialist.

What if I have product preferences or allergies?

Not a problem! We can accommodate your preferences. Be sure to let us know about these when we meet for the first time, particularly if you are allergic to certain products.

What if I want you to use my home equipment for cleaning?

We can do that! We are happy to provide products and equipment, or use your products and equipment.

What is the difference between a standard cleaning and a deep cleaning?

Excellent question! Our standard cleaning includes wiping surfaces, dusting, cleaning bathrooms (sinks, toilets, mirrors, showers), vacuuming and/or sweeping, mopping, and any basic tidying needed to accomplish the tasks above. Depending on your needs, additional services can be added to a standard cleaning. These services might include interior window cleaning, more extensive tidying, organizational services, upholstery or carpet spot cleaning, oven/stove top cleaning, etc.We get into deep cleaning territory when a given space needs nearly all additional possible services (for example, for a move-in or move-out cleaning), or if there is significant build-up. To illustrate what is meant by this, if you have years of build-up on your bathtub but you only want a standard cleaning, we will wipe and disinfect all of the surfaces of a bathtub, but a standard cleaning will not involve scraping and scrubbing to remove build up.

How does pricing work?

We care about providing you with a reasonable rate that also allows us to make a living and support our family. Our standard residential fees are as follows:Express cleaning....................................................$40.00End-of-tenancy cleaning (apartment)....................$75.00Standard cleaning.................................................$125.00Deep cleaning
(extended standard cleaning with deep cleaning of 1 or 2 areas)
.................................................................. $275.00
Whole home refresh
(a true "deep" cleaning and 2 day service)
............ $650.00
These fees are the fees we will quote you in most cases. However, depending on the square footage of an area, and the number of additional services required, there may be additional costs.

How does payment work?

Payment is due at the completion of services. We accept cash, check, Venmo or card, and determining your preferred payment method will be something we cover at our first meeting.

$X = per hour? That's too much for cleaning!

Okay, this might not be a frequently asked question, but it does pop up occasionally.First, we are self-employed and therefore subject to self-employment taxes, which means we pay both the employee and employer side of taxes. This is one factor that goes into pricing. We also provide the products and equipment in most cases. We offer free walk-throughs, regardless of whether you schedule with us. We put time into marketing and advertising so that a customer looking for a cleaning service knows we are available. We answer the questions of prospective clients via text, phone call, or email. Of course we have to go out and buy the products and equipment. We drive to the job site, whether that's 10 minutes away or 1 hour (or more!). We pay for liability insurance. If there is an issue cashing your check at the bank, we stand in line to troubleshoot it and figure out what is going on. We chat with you when we arrive, if you are up for it, and maybe as we are heading out the door (and don't get me wrong, we enjoy this!).In the case of Simple Sage Cleaning, if we run overtime, we don't charge you for it if we told you we expected the job to take only 2 hours. If we find out you have a special cleaning concern in your home, we might spend time researching the best solution, and buying a specific product to solve your problem. We are happy to do absolutely all of this, of course! But these examples are to illustrate that if the given rate is $35.00/hour, we might actually end up working for only $10.00 or $15.00/hour (or eek! sometimes less) depending on how time intensive all of the above is.All of that being said, don't be afraid to ask if we are offering any discounts or promotions at the moment. We are also happy to negotiate a reasonable flat rate for recurring customers.
